To Immigrants,

I'm sorry that the ignorance of those not like you, think that YOU are the reason they are suffering in this country.

I'm sorry that these ignorant Trump supporters think that by deporting you, they will elevate their already miserable lives.

They'll still be the same broke, can barely afford the lifestyle they live, living pay check to pay check people, as they were before they deported all the illegal immigrants.

Probably even worse off due to you not picking our food, building our houses and roads, and carrying this country on your backs.

They fooled them into thinking that immigrants were the enemy, instead of the billionaires who continue to prosper.

They fooled them into thinking that without immigrants, they'd be safer, richer, and America would be a better country.

They'll soon find out that without you, they'll pay far more in groceries than they ever have.

And the saddest thing, they'll still stand by their Daddy Trump, because ignorance now rules America.

I hope you find peace back home, knowing you are with your people.

I hope you find a way to make a living back home for your family.

I wish you nothing but love and peace, something that was hard to find in "the land of the free."

As a daughter of immigrants, it breaks my heart to see so much hate and evil thrown at you for simply living among them.

"Why do they hate us?"

Is it because they have no culture, nothing to be proud of, so they tear ours down?

"How does this even benefit them?"

It doesn't.

But it gives them someone to point the finger at,

And someone to spew their hatred to that they have built up from their own miserable lives.

And to those who also have immigrants in their families, whether it be your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins,

We all ended up here, because of them.

Hating your own people will not bring you closer to being loved by the white people in this country.

They hate you as much as they hate your illegal family members.

You are not them, and you never will be.

Instead of falling victim to this ugly mentality, stand up for your blood.

Speak up for those like our families.

Hate will only continue to prosper against our people, if we stay silent and complicate.

Just because it doesn't affect you now, doesn't mean it never will.

Sincerely, a proud Mexican American
